Freshman Follies
My oldest child, my daughter, will be leaving home for the first time in the fall to attend college. I know this is a survivable feat because I have seen others handle this time of their lives successfully. As a parent, I need advice in handling the seperation anxiety (mine) as well as her (sure to be made) phone calls of frustration when they come. How will I not run to her aid when she tells me she needs me and still sleep nights? Help!

This seems insurmountable right now, but after the first six months, both you and she will have adjusted and you will be surprised at how well. She will indeed call in need, but as always your motherly instinct will go into overdrive and you will approach each situation with God filled wisdom and the appropriate guidance. Wait and see, everything will turn out just fine.
